Rajwada Dhaba · Since 1998

The dhaba that
started it all

Clay-oven breads, eight-hour dal and kulhad chai, served on a lantern-lit garden terrace seventeen hours a day. On NH-48, exactly where it has always been.

About The Dhaba

Sixteen charpais, one tandoor,
and a rule about hunger.

In 1998 this was a tin roof, sixteen charpais and a single clay oven on the Ajmer highway. The rule then was simple — nobody leaves hungry, and nobody gets served food we wouldn't eat ourselves. Everything since has been built around that sentence.

The tin roof is now a walled garden with frangipani trees and lantern light. The sixteen charpais are two hundred and forty covers. But the tandoor is the same design, the dal still takes eight hours, and the chai is still boiled — never brewed — with ginger crushed to order.

Why Choose Us

Four reasons people drive past
three other dhabas to get here

  1. Three generations, one recipe book

The dal makhani that goes out tonight is simmered exactly the way it was in 1998 — eight hours, iron kadhai, no cream shortcuts. Our tandoor has not gone cold in twenty-eight years.

  2. Open seventeen hours a day

From the 7 AM chai crowd to the midnight trucker stopping on the Ajmer run, the kitchen is live. Full menu right through — no 'kitchen closed' at 3 PM.

  3. Built for families, not just travellers

A walled garden away from the highway, a supervised kids' zone, high chairs, a clean family washroom and a separate pure-veg counter. You can bring your parents here.

  4. Prices that haven't chased the highway

A full thali still costs less than a coffee in a mall. We make our money on volume and repeat guests, and we intend to keep it that way.

Chef's Recommendation

“Laal maas, missi roti, and a kulhad of chai after. Skip the starters — the thali portions are not a suggestion.”

Dhaba FAQs

Can't find your answer? Our booking team replies within the hour, every day between 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM.

Walk-ins are always welcome and we turn tables quickly. That said, on Saturday and Sunday evenings between 7 and 10 PM the garden fills up — a quick call or WhatsApp an hour ahead guarantees you a table, and it costs nothing.

Yes. Full kitchen from 7 AM to 12 AM, every day of the year including festivals. The chai and paratha counter stays open a little later for highway traffic.

The pure-veg section has its own counter, utensils and staff — no shared surfaces with the non-veg kitchen. Jain and no-onion-no-garlic preparations are made to order; allow fifteen extra minutes.

Absolutely, and it's free. Tell us at least four hours ahead and we'll set up a decorated table in the garden, hold your cake in the cold room and bring it out with sparklers when you're ready.

Yes — the rear yard takes coaches and tempo travellers, with a separate washroom block and a dedicated ordering counter for large groups. Call ahead for groups over 25 and we'll have your food ready as you arrive.

The garden terrace, main hall, family area and one washroom are step-free, with a ramp from the car park. Our staff will help with seating — just flag anyone at the entrance.

Hungry? We're open right now.

Full kitchen from 7 in the morning to midnight, every day of the year. Walk in, or hold a garden table with one message.
